National Conference At Srinivas University Report

A  National Conference on the theme “Innovations & Implications in Information Technology, Management, Social Sciences and Education” was organized on                   23RD December, 2017 at Srinivas University, Pandeshwar Campus.  Dr. P.R. Bhatt, Retd. Professor of Strategic Management, Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, in his inaugural address he opined about the technology is changing with time and the innovative changes happening in the IT field are suited to meet the requirements of modern world.    Dr. Annappa, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, NITK, Surathkal, Mangalore, delivered keynote address on Significance Datata Science and implications on Business.    Dr. P.S. Aithal, Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University presided over the function.  Prof. Subrahmanya Bhat, MCA Faculty and Convener of the Conference briefed the importance of the Conference.  Prof. P. Sridhara Acharya, Coordinator of BCA course welcomed the gathering and Prof. Vaikunth Pai, Faculty, MCA, proposed vote of thanks.  Prof. Panchajanyeshwari Achar, Faculty of MCA compered the programme.  Proceedings of the previous conference  as well as the Abstract  of current conference was released.  More than 62 research papers were received and presented by Research scholars, faculties and students in the conference.

Guest Lecture on “Working in Open Source Environment” in College of Computer & Information Sciences

Prof. Edwin gave a lecture on “Working in Open Source Environment” for the I BCA students on 04/08/2017 in College of Computer & Information Science. In his talk he highlighted the benefits of working in open source environment, various Linux Distributions, Downloading and Installing Procedures.  He gave a live demonstration also. Mr. Shylesh V. Prabhu faculty of CS & IS department welcomed  Prof. Edwin and Mrs. Supriya M.K  faculty of CS & IS department rendered the vote of thanks.


A guest lecture on “How to come up with case study” for MCA Students

A guest lecture on “How to come up with case study” was delivered by Prof Subramonya, Dept of MBA on 6th Sept 2017. The students of 5th sem MCA where in attendance. He also motivated the students to participate in the Case Study writing competition to be hosted by the SIMS MBA department.


Guest Lecture for I BCA Students of College of Computer & Information Science

BCA program has conducted a guest lecture for the I year  BCA students. Dr. Annayya Kulaal was the resource person who spoke about the importance of first aid. Prof. Sridhara Acharya the coordinator of the program welcomed Dr. Kulaal. The students actively participated in the guest lecture.

 


Guest Lecture for I BCA Students of College of Computer & Information Science

BCA program has conducted a guest lecture for the I year BCA students. Dr. Laveena D’Mello was the resource person who spoke about Couselling and made some exercises to students. Prof. Sridhara Acharya the coordinator of the program welcomed Dr. Laveena D’Mello. The students actively participated in the guest lecture.


Corporate Oriented Training Program for MCA Students

Corporate Oriented Training Program was conducted for the students of MCA programme on the 20th Sept 2017 at Srinivas University, City Campus, Mangaluru. Prof Ajay Narula was the resource person for the program. The students were trained on Team Building, Presentation, and Personality Development and as also Group Discussions. Students were asked to evaluated on the basis of their participation in group discussion on case studies and best performers were rewarded.


Winners in JOSHIYANA 8.0

MCA students of Srinivas University participated in JOSHIANA 8.0, National level IT fest held at St. Joseph Engineering College Mangaluru, on 22 nd Sept 2017 and won First Prize in Treasure Hunt event. Team members also reached final rounds in Quiz and Best Manager events.


Guest Lecture for Ist year BCA students under College of Computer & Information Sciences.

A guest lecture was organized for Ist year BCA students under College of Computer & Information Sciences on 25/09/17 at Srinivas Institute of Management studies Pandeshwara campus. Prof Akhilesh Suresh A Kuckian, faculty of B.Com , BBM department was the resource person of the day. In his talk he explained the importance of concentration, Active involvement for achieving success in life. He also gave a live demo for the students explaining how to gain concentration.


Investment Awareness Program from BSE for MCA Students @ College of Computer & Information Sciences

BSE initiated Investment Awareness Program for MCA students was held on 28th November, 2017 at our Srinivas University City Campus Pandeshwara, Mangaluru. The representative from BSE, highlighted on the areas of Capital Investment opportunities in Security Markets, Derivative Markets and Mutual Fund market. They also suggested on the risk factors and how to minimize those risk factors while investing on such equity markets.


Farewell Ceremony for MCA Students at College of Computer & Information Sciences

 

A farewell ceremony was arranged in honor of the outgoing students of MCA at Srinivas University, City Campus, Pandeshwara, Mangaluru on 29 th of November 2017. The students of MCA I year in association with the department have organized the program. The formal function presided by Dr. P.S Aithal, vice chancellor, Srinivas University and Prof. Subramanya Bhat, Head Dept of MCA as chief guest. Dr. P. S Aithal, in the presidential speech, focused on the career development of the students in three fields like Research/M.Phil, IT Industry or to come up as a new entrepreneur. Outgoing students have shared their experience in the campus during their course period. Students have been recognized for their achievements in various events conducted during the academic year. As part of the function various cultural activities and fun activities where held to make the farewell function memorable.


Case Studies presentations from MCA students

Manegma, a national level conference was held on 17th March 2018, with the theme “Impact of Ideas and Innovations on Mangaement, IT, Education and Social science”  at Srinivas University, city campus, Pandeshwara, Mangaluru.  Students of MCA  Harshith Kumar M, Kaushik Kuttappa, Tilak G Naik, Sudarshan Prabhu presented their case studies on different leading IT companies like Accenture, DELL EMC and HCL Technologies.

MCA / BCA Onam Celebration – 30-8-2017

The Onam day celebration from MCA and BCA students under College of Computer and Information Sciences was held on 30th of August 2017 amidst great cheer and the cultural extravaganza witnessed a mass participation. The program was commenced by setting up attractive Floral Decoration (Pookalam). Followed by formals where the gathering was addressed by Prof. Subramanya Bhat, HOD of MCA department and Prof. Sridhara Acharya, HOD of BCA department. Students performed traditional dance called Thiruvathira. The entire college was given Sadhya arranged by students. After lunch the students involved in various games in quadrangle.

BCA Fresher’s Day – 23-8-2017

Fresher’s day is a program which will help in developing friendship among seniors and juniors. BCA program under College of Computer and information Sciences organized Fresher’s day program on 23-08-2017 for Ist year BCA students at the auditorium of the college. It was a day which was filled with excitement and joy. The students performed cultural shows. Various exciting games were organized by the seniors for the new comers welcoming the fresh batch students. Senior students and newcomers mingled with each other. All the students together rocked the show
