About M Tech in Civil Engineering:

Srinivas University’s Master of Technology in Civil Engineering (M.Tech.) program nurtures and develops students as young & dynamic engineers. The program lays emphasis on preparing students to become competent Civil Engineers with latest technological knowledge as per global needs by building their capabilities, sound technical knowledge, skills and attitude. MTech-Civil program is a four-year graduate programme. The aim of MTechCivil program is to prepare students for successful careers in the field of Civil Engineering as per international standards and to prepare students to become responsible and contributing members of the community. The Dept. of Civil Engg has a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members along with experienced supporting staffs, state of the art laboratories, multimedia classrooms, digital online library facilities and good infrastructure provides a healthy and professional environment for the pursuit of academic excellence.

The department has established the following well equipped laboratories for the regular academic works and also for the research activities:

  • Auto CAD – well equipped with software’s like Auto CAD, STAADPRO, NISA, etc.
  • Civil Engg Surveying – has modern surveying instruments namely Total Station, Theodolites, Dumpy Levels, etc.
  • Structural Engineering – equipped with UTM, CTM, etc.
  • Strength of Materials – well equipped with Universal Testing Machines of capacity 100 tonnes, Compression Testing Machine of capacity 100 tonnes, Torsion Testing Machine, Hardness Testing Machines (Brinnel and Rockwell), Impact Testing Machine, Fatigue Testing Machine, etc.
  • Concrete Technology & Highway Material Testing Lab – well designed and well equipped with machinery & apparatus to conduct test on building materials like cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, concrete, bricks, tiles (Roofing & Paving), concrete blocks, bitumen etc. so that the lab is suitable for regular academic works, research works and also for the consultancy works.
  • Environmental Engineering – well equipped to facilitate the testing of water samples for physical, chemical and biological parameters.
  • Soil Mechanics / Geo Technical Engineering – the lab is well equipped with the equipments and apparatus required to carry out all types of tests namely triaxial test, direct shear test, CBR test, Static cone penetrometer test, grain size distribution, consistency limits, permeability tests, proctor compaction tests, bearing capacity tests, etc.
  • Engineering Geology
  • Hydraulic Mechanics – the laboratory is equipped with different types of turbines, pumps, and other miscellaneous hydraulics machines.
  • Irrigation – the lab is equipped with machineries to measure the rate of flow using notches, weirs, venturimeter, orifices meter, etc.

The department has plans to set up research laboratories in collaboration with industry and other bodies. The department aims to shape the career of students to not only gain knowledge, but also to become excel in the international market with knowledge and ethics. In this regard, the department conducts a number of seminar, technical talks and debates by inviting professionals and experts from industries and research centers, and also conducts field visits / industrial visits to enrich the knowledge of civil engineering students. The department is striving the level best to do more achievements in academics and research activities.

The course fees mentioned for subsequent years may vary annually up to 6%.
