B.Sc. Optometry is an Undergraduate Program which deals with the examination, diagnosis, and management of diseases of the visual system. This course is synonymous with eye care & visual health. It trains the students to work as professionals whose main intent is to assess the vision of patient, prescribe & fit lenses to improve their vision.

Two year Pre- University examination or equivalent from a recognized University or Board with physics, Chemistry and Biology as principle subject of study Syllabus is implemented as per National –Education Policy (NEP)
Four years including One year internship.

• Various ophthalmic instruments for hands-on practice

• Practice independently as an Optometrist
• Practice in optical establishments, Corporate & Private Hospitals, NGOs.
• Run optical shops and setups to dispense of visual aids.
• Start own specialty clinic like contact lenses, Computer vision, Orthoptics.
• Plethora of jobs in manufacturing and distribution sectors of ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses and ophthalmic instruments.
• Work with multinational eye care companies like Bausch & Lomb, Essilor, Zeiss, etc.
• Pursue M.Sc and PhD programs and take up teaching Optometry as a career.
(1) University Registration Fee, Eligibility Fee for other State/NRI students, Examination Fee, Uniform Fee, Hostel Fee, Industry visit fee, Internship fee, Transportation fee, Sports & games fee, Extra-curricular activity fee, etc., are extra. The course fees mentioned for subsequent years may vary annually up to 6%. (2) The University Placement & Training Team will assist the admitted students to get (a) Earn While Learn, (b) Industry Internship, and (c) Final Job Placement. (3) Karnataka Quota* : 1. Applicable only to Karnataka students having 50% or more in the applicable subject combination. 2. To be considered as Karnataka domicile student should have studied 7 years including PUC in the Karnataka.
