ABOUT Institute of Education

An individual can be transformed with education for the benefit of both himself and society as a whole. Srinivas College of Education was established under A. Shama Rao Foundation from 20th December 2004 in its campus located at Pandeshwara, Mangalore. The College has been approved by NCTE recognized by the Government of Karnataka and was affiliated to Mangalore university for about 13 years. It had a track record of achieving more than 15 ranks with first rank twice and 100% results throughout under Mangalore University.
Srinivas College of Education became the Institute of Education in 2018 after merging with Srinivas University. Institute of Education has the goal of creating creative dynamic teachers who can take on the challenge of shaping students and their lives to become responsible citizens. Using cutting -edge, advanced teaching methods, while maintaining the essence of conventional teaching practice, the college provides creative and top-quality professional education.
Beginning in the month of March 2018, the first batch of B.Ed. Course under the Srinivas University officially began.

ACCREDITATION

The College has formal recognition from NCTE (National Council of Teacher Education) reference no.F.SRO/NCTE/APS02313/B.Ed/ KA/2015-16/65593 with permission to continue affiliation with Srinivas University through F.No.SRO/NCTE/APS02313/B.Ed/KA/2016- 17/85915. & revised NCTE order no. F.SRC/NCTE/APSO2313/B.Ed./{KA}/2022/138538,date:02/01/2023

The college has recognized by Karnataka state government CAC (Central Admission Cell) Code no. 43007 for the intake of Govt. quota seats.

A) DURATION OF THE COURSE

In line with above the relevant information the college proceed with the programme as follows.

B) ELIGIBILITY:

A Candidate who has secured at least 50% marks in aggregate either in the Bachelor’s Degree / or in the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science/ Humanity shall be eligible for admission to the degree of Bachelor of Education. Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other Qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the B.Ed Degree.
There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/Category-1/Physically disabled candidates.
Rules regarding admission, entrance examination, intake, eligibility, reservations, proportions for different subjects and related norms will be as laid down by the NCTE and the Government of Karnataka from time to time and notified by the University shall be followed.

ADMISSION PROCESS/CRITERIA

• Government quota seats are filled up by the Central Admission Cell (CAC) of Karnataka Government through counselling. • Common entrance examination notification will be given by the university. On the basis of the merit of the entrance examination the management seats are admitted

Documents Required

• Originals of Marks card/certificate of the qualifying examination + two sets of Xerox.
• SSLC certificate for proof of date of birth + two sets of Xerox.
• Transfer certificate from the institution last attended original + One set of Xerox.
• Migration Certificate – original + one set of Xerox. (Students have to obtain Migration certificate from the respective University/ Board where they studied).
• Eligibility Certificate - Students from states other than Karnataka must present eligibility certificate.
• Physical fitness certificate from any Regd. Medical Practitioner – original only.
• Photographs – Passport size (5 Nos.)

Our programme will open doors to multiple opportunities in both higher education and employment. The degree in education is a professional degree and prepares students to enter the professional world of teaching. The University’s strong alumni network endeavours to support our alumni in their initial years of professional lives as teachers.

We have an active placement service through interviews organized by different schools in the campus. Most of the reputed schools like Sharada Vidyanikethan Public School Talapady, Sri Chaitanya Techno School Mangalore visit our college for the campus selection and majority of our students obtain the chance. Research at Srinivas University is largely focused on issues that are directly relevant to the work we are engaged in, and at a broader level, on issues that have social relevance and impact. Substantial emphasis is placed on research that contributes to knowledge in practice besides recognizing research as contributing to scholarly knowledge. Collaborative researches among faculty members, between faculty and the members in Field Institutes of Srinivas University and between the organizations is an essential feature of our work. The Research Centre at the University is responsible for facilitating the research work of University faculty and all members of the College. As part of this, the centre works on setting up internal processes related to proposal, approval, ethics frameworks, archiving and dissemination. The centre also provides support on data analysis, conducts capacity enhancement workshops and hosts research events and conferences.
