On February 4, 2025, the Adult Health Nursing Department of Srinivas University Institute of Nursing Sciences organized a Cancer Awareness Programme in observance of World Cancer Day. The event saw active involvement from 3rd-semester nursing students, who played a significant role in the programme's arrangements. The programme commenced at 10:45 AM at HKA Bawa Fish Factory and Bawa Fish Oil Co., with the gracious presence of managers Mr. Haneef and Mr. Abdul Sathar. Approximately 45 workers attended the session.Ms. Aleta Fernandese and Ms. Aleena Jojee served as the Masters of Ceremony, while Ms. Nandana Anil Kumar delivered the welcome address. The students organized seating arrangements and conducted a role play as part of the awareness session. Educational content on cancer, covering its causes, clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, treatment options, and preventive measures, was delivered in Hindi, the preferred language of the North Indian workforce. Informative brochures were also distributed to the attendees. Ms. Bestena extended the vote of thanks, and refreshments were provided at the conclusion of the programme. The event concluded successfully at 11:45 AM, leaving a positive impact on the attendees.
