The Annual food fest is being organised since 1992 to expose all the Hotel Management students to the intricacies and nitty gritties of event management. Students get to experience the various aspects like Sales & Marketing, Food Production, F&B Service, Purchasing and other Management skills. The programme was compered by Mr. Claran Frank Abreo of IV Semester student. Flaring & Juggling, Cultural program, Mouth watering delicacies were the highlights of the evening.

A guest talk was organised by DEPT. OF GENERAL EDUCATION, GVHSS MULLERIA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, KASARGOD, on 23 March 2022 and Asst.Professor Roopesh C Nair, of Institute of Hotel mgt.and tourism gave a talk on Team work. The programme was conducted via google meet where students learned the importance and techniques involved in successful team work.
The students of Srinivas University- Institute of Hotel Management, Aviation Studies, Education and Interior Design, City Campus, Pandeshwar, jointly celebrated Holi, Rang 2022 on 17th March, at its campus. The celebration is envisioned to bring the community of students on a common platform and celebrated the festival of colours. The programme concluded with rain dance, cultural events, DJ songs and also vibrant play of colours.The festival was celebrated under the guidance and blessings of Dr. C.A. Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, Srinivas University in collaboration with College of Social Sciences, Srinivas University had conducted a Guest lecture on Table Manners for the First year BSW and BA Journalism students of Srinivas University on 6th January 2022 . The class was conducted by Prof.Sreejith O V, Training and Placement Officer of Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism. Dr. Pradeep M D, Training and Placement Officer and Course Coordinator for College of Social Science and Prof. Joyson was present during the occasion. Dr. Pradeep highlighted the importance of such classes and asked for a few more sessions for the students who are attending the training program of Bosch.
An industrial visit was executed for the students of second year of BHMCT, BSc(HM) AND BSc (ATT) of Srinivas University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism on 23rd of November, 2021 to The Food Court at Forum Mall, Manalore. Ms Nisha Anchan, Facilities Manager, Forum Mall and Mr Sandeep Tauro, Executive Manager, Food Court were the resource persons during the visit. The visit was organised as part of observance of Food Safety Compliance week. The students were given insights on food preparation and food safety like cooking temperatures, storage of food, food handling, cleaning and sanitisation, eco-friendly waste disposal, etc. The new concept of making Seedballs to manage the organic wastes was also demonstrated to the students and the Seedballs were gifted to all the participants. On this occasion, Mr Subrat Saraf, Asistant Professor, Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism also delivered an Extension Lecture to the employees of Food Court on "Food and Nutrition"
Srinivas University Institute of Hotel management and Tourism organised and executed Industrial Visit for its First year students of BHMCT, BScHM and BScHM (ATT). The students were taken to various hotels of the city viz. The Ocean Pearl Spa and Convention centre, The Ocean Pearl Inn and The Hotel Goldfinch. The visit was convened by Mr Roopesh, Assistant Professor, College of Hotel Management and Tourism. The visit was an eye opening session for the freshers as various executives and supervisors of the hotels amazingly interacted with them in the actual work settings about the departmental operations, skills requirement, achievement of career goals, importance of being hard working and much more. Other professors of the college also accompanied the students during the visit and extended their wholehearted thanks to the hotels for providing this opportunity to the students.

An Inter class Volleyball tournament of Bsc ID and Hotel management students held on 30.10.2021. at Srinivas University City campus, Pandeshwara, Mangalore. To exhibit the talents of the students. The match was organised by Supriya Adiga, Physical Education Director of the Pandeshwar campus. The winner and runner up of the Tournament was 4th year BHMCT and 2nd year BHMCT respectively.
The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. The Dean addressed the freshers. The freshers presented some programs such as solo song, solo dance and group dance, mime show and a fashion show. Cake cutting, games and announcement of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher were the other events conducted. It was followed by lunch .

Ms. Nisha Anchan, Facilities Manager, Forum Mall was the Resource Person during the visit.The students received bright insights on House Keeping operations and facilities management in a mall. The process of receiving information was strengthened by taking them to various operational units of the mall like House Keeping, Landscape Management, Waste Management, Pest Control and Customer Service.On this occasion, Mr. Subrat Saraf, Asst. Professor,Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism thanked Ms. Nisha Anchan and her entire team for paving the way for the students to gain new and innovative knowledge in their related field.
Srinivas University Institute of hotel management and tourism conducted cocktail competition, 'THE ALCHEMIST- 2021' , on 25th sept 2021 at The Model Training Restaurant. More than 70 students from various colleges participated in the competition. Mr. Praveen from 4th BHMCT and Mr Dhayan from College of Aviation were awarded first and second places respectively by the judge Mr Suraj Suvarna who is working has Head Bartender at PRESTIGE GROUP OF HOTELS.
A Face Painting competition was conducted at Srinivas University Institute of Management and Commerce in Department of Interior Design on 5th of August 2021 at Pandeshwar Campus, Mangalore.The students of B. Sc ID, First and Second-year batch actively participated in the competition. Students came up with different themes and ideas about the art and culture. During the competition, Professor Swaminathan, Dean, College of Hotel Management and Tourism spoke about the skills, talent needed to perfectly match the face paint impression with the theme selected by the students, he also appreciated the talent and participation done by the students and congratulated the team for making the programme a success.On this occasion, Mrs. Yogeetha Pai, Course coordinator and the organizer of the programme extended the floral welcome to the judges Prof. Swaminathan, Mr Subrat Saraf (College of Hotel Management and Tourism) and Mrs. Vindya, Asst Professor, Department of Interior Design welcomed Mrs. Ashwini Anush (Department of Journalism and Mass Communication) The Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Bhavani Shankar, Asst Professor, Department of Interior Design.
A flower arrangement workshop was conducted at Srinivas University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism in the Housekeeping department on 31st of July. Prof. Gayathree K, HOD, Department of Home science, Besant Women's College, Mangalore was the Resource person of the Workshop. The students of final year BHMCT actively participated in the workshop. Prof. Gayathree spoke about the importance of flower arrangement in hotels and exhibited skills needed to make professional flower arrangements in various styles and shapes.Students came up with hands-on practice on making different arrangements of flowers. On this occasion, Prof. Swaminathan, Dean, extended the floral welcome to the resource person and Mr Subrat Saraf, Assistant Professor and workshop organizer presented the vote of thanks.

The topic for the webinar was ," Basics of Bartending ", conducted by Mr.Christeen C J, Chief Mixologist at El Patron Bar, Goa. The discussion involved various aspects of Bartending,pursuing a career in bar tending, strategies and tips for the beginners and many other useful information.
