Institute of Physiotherapy provides students with a comprehensive list of features and facilities to cater to our students learning needs and comfort during their years with us. We believe in creating an environment that is conducive for learning and development to complement our academic programmes.
The OPDs of Institute of Physiotherapy focuses on the rehabilitation of patients with disorders that affect movement, balance, coordination, and daily functioning that can significantly impair an individuals ability to perform routine activities.
The department is equipped with specialized equipment such as Virtual Reality, EECP, mirror therapy, pneumatic compression, rPMS, spinal decompression unit, Laser and therapies that are tailored to meet the specific needs of patients. The team of expert physiotherapists works closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care aimed at reducing pain, improving function, and quality of life.
In addition to its FREE clinical services, the department plays a crucial role in educating and training the next generation of physiotherapists. It offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of neurological patients through its robust clinical training and experiential learning programs.
Clinical Training Facilities for Students:
1. Supervised Clinical Training: Students have the opportunity to work directly with patients under the supervision of experienced faculty. These clinical placements allow students to practice patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning, developing essential clinical skills in real-world settings. Training is designed to provide students with exposure to a variety of neurological conditions, giving them the experience necessary to handle complex cases.
2. Hands-on Therapy Sessions: During their clinical training, students are involved in delivering therapy interventions for patients. They perform activities such as range-of- motion exercises, strengthening protocols, gait training, and balance exercises, pain management while also utilizing advanced modalities like biofeedback, rPMS, virtual reality, and functional trainer. This hands-on involvement is critical for building competence in therapeutic techniques.
3. Simulation Labs: The department features simulation laboratories specifically with regard to critical care and Basic Life support (BLS) where students can practice various procedures on models or simulated patients before working with real patients. These simulation sessions are an essential component of experiential learning, enabling students to build confidence and refine their skills in a controlled environment.
4. Clinical Case Discussions: Daily clinical case discussions are organized to allow students to present their cases and discuss diagnosis, treatment planning, and outcomes with their peers and faculty. These discussions help students enhance their clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills.
5. Patient Management and Documentation: Students learn the importance of maintaining comprehensive patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes. They also receive guidance on evidence-based practice, learning how to incorporate the latest research into their treatment interventions.
