Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized Aaraatt 2023,-The Onam Celebration at Srinivas Hotel Auditorium, on 2 Sept 2023. The Chief guest for the program was Shri. Mahabaleshwar Bhat. S, Principal, Sharada PU College and Prof. Er. Smt. A. Mithra S Rao, Tustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinvas University. The event showcased the rich culture and traditions of the South Indian state and fostered a sense of unity among the diverse student body.The event began as the Chende drumbeats led the guests, accompanied by students adorned in the attire of King Mahabhala and Vamana. The Program was innaugrated by Shri. Mahabaleshwar Bhat. S, Principal, Sharada PU College, Prof. Er. Smt. A. Mithra S Rao, Tustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinvas University. Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean, Institute of Aviation Studies. Ms. Naithika, President, Student Council. Ms.Bhavyashree, Vice- President, Student Council Ms. Anusha, Cultural Coordinator, Student Council, as a symbol of purity and renewal, opened a tender flower of the coconut, framing the moment with the essence of freshness and new beginnings. Ms. Naithika, President, Student Council welcomed the gathering. Addressing the students, Mahabaleshwar Bhat said, Onam is a festival of joy which is celebrated unitedly. We can see Keralites in every corner of the world and witness unity in their community which stands out.Prof A Mithra S Rao said, The Srinivas Institute of Aviation Studies is always in the forefront in bagging any award in competitions as there are talented students. The mentors work is clearly seen through the students.The formal function was followed by a cultural event that was a testament to the diversity within the Institute. Students from various states and cultural backgrounds came together to showcase their talents. There were mesmerizing classical dance performances and many more. Ms. Bhavyashree, Vice-President, Student Council delivered the Vote of thanks.The students relished the sumptuous Onam Sadya. The menu featured a delectable array of vegetarian dishes, including Avial, Sambar, Rasam, and Payasam, all served on fresh banana leaves. The traditional style of serving and the tantalizing flavours left everyone delighted.The students also performed Thiruvathira, the graceful dance of women in traditional attire at the Krishna Bhavan Quadrangle, adding an enchanting touch to the Onam festivities, captivating the hearts of onlookers with its elegance and cultural significance. Later, Tug of war competition was also organized for the students. were the students enthusiastically participated in the event.The program was compered by Ms. Pratheeksha Shetty, I year MBA ( Aviation Management).
