Women’s Day Celebration by College of Management and Commerce in association with SIRRA:
The College of Management & Commerce in association with SIRRA organized Women’s day on 09.03.2020 at the Gallery Hall, City Campus, Pandeshwar, Mangalore. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ambika G. Mallya, Associate Professsor, SIT, Valachil. She addressed the gathering on the topic of Feminism and advocated that for any society to grow there should be Gender equality. She spoke on the various roles women take, and stressed that the negative effects of feminism should not have adverse effect on the society. The guest of Honour Dr. Ashalatha Suvarna, Associate Professor, Gokarnanatheshwara College spoke on empowerment of women. She gave various examples of empowerment and stressed on the need to have more women business entrepreneurs. She claimed that women should be the architect of building the nation, and make a difference in the society. After the guest lecture, students had a session on Self Defence. Deans, faculty and students of College of Management & Commerce, and College of Social Sciences were a part of this function.
