Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University conducted a free physiotherapy camp for life style disorders 3rd August 2024 at city campus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru under the guidance of Dean, Dr Rajasekar S.Stations were arranged for assessment based on patient’s problems, risk factors and to check basic vital parameters includes heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation level, blood pressure, random blood sugar level, exercise tolerance and electrocardiogram. Around 45 participants from in and around the locality with various cardiovascular ailments, and risk factors related to cardiovascular diseases like hypertension, obesity, and diabetes mellitus actively participated in the camp.Cardiac physicians and ECG technicians from Srinivas Hospital, Mukka were present for consultation and ECG testing. Students of MPT specialized in Cardio respiratory Physiotherapy and Community Physiotherapy along with interns provided an individualized intervention benefiting the participants. A home based exercise prescription program based on their conditions was advised to the participants. 4 out 45 participants with cardiac ailments were advised to take free Enhanced external counter pulsation (EECP) treatment at our Physiotherapy OPD. Dr. Premkumar M, Associate Professor, IPT coordinated the camp.
