On the 5th of September 2024, Srinivas University Institute of Physiotherapy organized a remarkable sporting event (cricket) called the Physio Cricket League- “Big Bash 2k24” to mark two important occasions: World Physiotherapy Day and Teachers' Day. Held at a well-maintained Futsal Turf, the event provided an ideal setting for a day filled with competitive sports, celebrating the spirit of physical fitness and education. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike, making it a well-rounded event that fostered both teamwork and camaraderie. Inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Registrar (Development) of the University, the event was given added significance by his presence and motivational keynote. Dr. Ajay Kumar stressed the importance of maintaining physical fitness in today’s fast-paced world and emphasized the vital role physiotherapists play in healthcare, especially in rehabilitative care. Additionally, he acknowledged the invaluable contributions of teachers, recognizing their role in shaping the future of society. By organizing this event around World Physiotherapy Day, the University aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physical therapy and its role in maintaining overall health and well-being. Simultaneously, Teachers' Day was honoured to celebrate the relentless dedication of educators who guide and mentor students.The Physio Cricket Big Bash 2k24 saw the participation of 10 teams of IPT, Srinivas University. These teams composed of UG students, PG students and interns; demonstrated impressive skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The tournament, which followed a knockout format, featured intense matches that kept the audience comprised of students, staff, and visitors enthralled throughout the event. It was Team Black Squad that emerged as the champions. They celebrated their achievement with pride, lifting the championship trophy after the final match.In recognition of their outstanding performance, a cash prize was awarded to three teams, Team Black Squad, Physiovirtuous and Diva dynamos. This prize not only honoured their success but also served as encouragement for other participants to strive for excellence in both academics and sports. All the participating teams were lauded for their efforts, and certificates of participation were distributed to acknowledge their contribution to the event. The day concluded with a sense of accomplishment, as students, faculty, and staff celebrated the spirit of competition and the values of physical fitness and education.
