REPORT ON ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Anti- ragging committee of Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness Campaign on 19.12.2024 to raise awareness about the severe consequences of ragging and to promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment on campus. The event aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and encouraged students to participate in creative ways through an E-Poster and Video Making Competition. The objective of the competition was to engage students creatively, helping them to understand the importance of maintaining discipline and respect among peers, while also promoting a ragging-free environment.Competitions:E-poster:Students were invited to create e-posters that visually depicted the dangers of ragging and the importance of fostering a respectful college environment. Posters were evaluated based on creativity, message clarity, design, and relevance to the theme.Video making:In this category, students were tasked with creating short videos (maximum duration of 90 seconds) highlighting the negative impact of ragging and promoting anti-ragging awareness. Videos could include skits, animations, or spoken-word performances, and were judged on creativity, message effectiveness, and overall production quality.The competition saw enthusiastic participation of students. A total of 8 students participated in the E-Poster competition, and 4 teams of three participants each submitted entries for the Video Making competition. The students demonstrated remarkable creativity, with their entries showcasing a deep understanding of the anti-ragging message.Outcome:The competition proved to be a huge success in promoting anti-ragging awareness among students. The winners of both the E-Poster and Video Making categories were awarded certificates. Their winning entries were displayed on social media platforms to further spread awareness.Conclusion:The Anti-Ragging Awareness Campaign through the E-Poster and Video Making competition was an excellent initiative to engage students creatively while also imparting vital messages about the harmful effects of ragging. By using art and media as tools for advocacy, the competition successfully encouraged students to stand against ragging and take collective responsibility in creating a positive and welcoming campus environment.The college plans to continue such initiatives in the future to ensure that the message of zero tolerance towards ragging remains strong and is actively reinforced in the college community.
