The Government of Karnataka, Higher Education Department vide its Final Notification No. ED 29 UNE 2015, dated. 20/02/2015 has accorded its approval for the establishment of SRINIVAS University.
UGC has further clarified in its Status Letter No. F8-16/2015 (CPP-1/PU) dated 23/08/2015, that the Srinivas Group of Colleges have been permitted to start Srinivas University as established by the Srinivas University Act 2013 of the Karnataka State Legislature. This standing of law is clarified by the Supreme Court in the case of Bharathidasan University Vs AICTE . A copy of Public Notice & RTI reply by AICTE and the copy of the relevant judgment are enclosed in the website www.srinivasuniversity.edu.in.
However, prior to the formation of Srinivas University, the constituent Colleges of Srinivas Group of Colleges , were affiliated to Mangalore University/VT University/RGUHS with AICTE approvals to run their Courses. Hence, they have established norms & standards laid down by AICTE.
