Dr. Sandhya Shenoy U, DST INSPIRE Faculty from Department of Chemistry of Institute of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University, has been awarded the prestigious NASI Platinum Jubilee Young Scientist Award 2021 under chemical sciences by National Academy of Sciences India, Prayagraj for her work in the field of energy and environment.

Dr. Sandhya Shenoy U, DST INSPIRE Faculty from Department of Chemistry of Institute of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University, has been awarded certificate of appreciation as top 5 % highly cited author internationally by Royal Society of Chemistry, London. Her research in the field of energy and environmental applications based on thermoelectric and photocatalytic materials was amongst the top 100 papers published across Royal Society Chemistry (RSC) journals globally in terms of citations in 2020.

The paper titled “Bi and Zn co-doped SnTe thermoelectrics: Interplay of resonance levels and heavy hole band dominance leading to enhanced performance and a record high room temperature ZT.” by Dr. U. Sandhya Shenoy et al., published in Journal of Materials Chemistry C (A Royal Society of Chemistry Publication) has been recognized as the most popular article in 2020.

The paper titled “Rhodium Doping Augments Photocatalytic Activity of Barium Titanate: Effect of Electronic Structure Engineering.” by Dr. U. Sandhya Shenoy et al. has been recognized as HOT article by Nanoscale Advances (A journal from Royal Society of Chemistry).

The paper titled “Zn: A versatile resonant dopant for SnTe thermoelectrics.” by Prof. D. Krishna Bhat (NITK) and Dr. U. Sandhya Shenoy (SUCET) published in Materials Today Physics (An Elsevier publication) has been recognized as most cited article with a prominence percentile of 99.811 by Scopus.

The paper titled “Enhanced Thermoelectrics Performance of Bulk Tin Telluride: Synergistic Effect of Calcium and Indium Co-doping.” by Prof. D. Krishna Bhat (NITK) and Dr. U. Sandhya Shenoy (SUCET) published in Materials Today Physics (An Elsevier publication) has been recognized as most cited article with a prominence percentile of 99.811 by Scopus.

Dr. Sandhya Shenoy U, DST INSPIRE Faculty of Institute of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University presented (platform presentation) a paper titled “High Performance Tin Telluride Thermoelectrics by Electronic Structure Engineering: A Synergistic Effect of Bismuth and Indium Co-doping” in 6th International Conference organised by Indian Council of Chemistry at Paris, France on the 7th June 2019. The conference was organised on the theme of “Chemistry: Our health, Our Future”.

Dr. Sandhya Shenoy U, DST INSPIRE Faculty of Institute of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University was awarded Prof. G. Gopala Rao Centenary Commemorative Award for the best oral presentation in physical chemistry section on the paper titled “Realizing High Thermoelectric Performance in Bulk Tin Telluride by Electronic Structure Engineering: Synergistic Effect of Calcium and Indium Co-doping” in 37th Annual National Conference of Indian Council of Chemists held at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal on 14th December 2018.

The paper titled “Enhanced thermoelectric performance of bulk tin telluride: Synergistic effect of calcium and indium co-doping” authored by Prof. D. Krishna Bhat (NITK, Surathkal) and Dr. Sandhya Shenoy U (SUCET, Mukka) received the prestigeous distinction of being adjudged as Editor's Choice Paper under volume 4 in Materials Today Physics journal.
