Eligibilty: BPT degree examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate. 

About the programme:

The Master of Physiotherapy course is a 2-year fulltime program with the curriculum designed on Choice based credit system (CBCS) with semester pattern of examinations, leading to the degree that equips the student with analytical, evidence based learning skills. The program is generic in nature and has a component of additional learning of one area leading to an elective in that area.

Electives offered:

  1. MPT in Musculoskeletal Sciences and Sports
  2. MPT in Neurosciences and Practice
  3. MPT in Cardiopulmonary Sciences and Practice
  4. MPT in Community Based Rehabilitation
  5. MPT in Paediatric Sciences and Practice
  6. MPT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Practice

Course content:

I Semester: Research methodology and Biostatistics, Kinesiology and Pathomechanics, Ethics and Evidence based practice.

II Semester: Exercise Physiology, Electrophysiology and functional diagnosis, Pedagogy in Physiotherapy education, Differential diagnosis for Physiotherapists.

III Semester: Physiotherapeutics-I, Elective Assessment-I, Elective goal planning and management-I.

IV Semester: Physiotherapeutics-II, Elective Assessment-II, Elective goal planning and management-II, Elective choice based subjects.

Clinical Training:

Students will find clinical training an invaluable supplement to the theoretical sessions. At present, the college gives its students training through:

  • Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, Mukka
  • Out-posting at various multi-speciality Hospitals and Sports centres
  • Srinivas Institute of Physiotherapy Outpatient Department
  • Prashanth Nivas Old Age Home
  • Chethana special school for children
  • Agnes Special school, Bendore
  • Primary Health centre, Jeppu

The course fees mentioned for subsequent years may vary annually up to 6%.
